WEEK 1: Our Nation – The United Kingdom
Wednesday 05 March – Thanksgiving, Repentance and Surrender
Thanksgiving
- Thank God for His lovingkindness and tender mercies for the nation despite the widespread rejection of His authority.
- Thank God that new souls are being won to His kingdom despite a largely hostile anti-Christ environment.
- Thank God for the forefathers of this nation who took the gospel to the nations.
- Thank God that His promise of His lovingkindness to a thousand generations holds true.
Repentance
Let us repent on behalf of our nation:
- For not recognising Him as Lord. Ask God to forgive us for our pride; too many people have made themselves God in their own lives.
- Ask God to forgive us for removing Him from almost every aspect of our lives – our laws, education, arts and entertainment, popular culture etc.
- For those of us who claim to know Him, too many of us are not honouring Him as we should.
- Basically, we deserve His wrath as a nation however let’s plead the blood of Jesus that was shed for us and ask God to remember mercy for the sake of His remnant who are faithfully seeking His face.
Surrender
Let us commit the prayer sessions over this Lenten period to Him, that He will grant us utterance by His Spirit to pray according to His will.

Thursday 06 March – The Body of Christ
Wake us up from slumber, oh Lord!
- That we will have revelation knowledge of Him AND be filled with His wisdom and His power so that we are truly salt and light, impacting our nation for His glory.
- That we will have a hunger for souls, will seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and be obedient to His commission to be witnesses across our land.
- That we will leave behind the weights, distractions and activities that encumber us.
- That the body of Christ will be united – ONE in Christ.
- That leaders operating in the five-fold ministry or in any capacity as gifted by God will use their gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.
- That the church will continually remain in the place of prayer so that we experience a fresh outpouring of his power and revival across the land.
- That those who aren’t formal UK churches e.g. Christian Concern, Premier Radio, UCB etc, will be blessed with the resources they need to lift up the name of Jesus.
- That there will be a mighty harvest of souls in all parts of the nation following the Franklin Graham crusade and other such crusades.
- That that those who have a heart for His kingdom will be open to the leading of the Spirit regarding wealth creation so that they can finance the spread of the gospel.
- That those bringing the name of Christ into disrepute will repent and turn back to him.
- That those the enemy has planted in our midst will be uprooted and powerless therefore unable to cause further damage.
Friday 07 March – The Government
Let us commit those who are in authority over our land to the Lord – this includes law and policy makers as well as law and policy enforcers at every level.
- That the fear of God will come upon them stopping them from promoting anti-Christ laws, policies and suggestions.
- That the fear of God will come upon them stopping them from oppressing the vulnerable and marginalised.
- Pray for fairness in policing and the judiciary – that where the abuse of power exists, it will cease.
- That as a nation, our government and foreign policy makers will desist from oppressing and destabilising weaker nations.
- That already existing anti-Christ and inhumane legislation will be overturned.
- That Christian MPs will find their voice and will do the right thing as led by the Holy Spirit irrespective of party politics.
- That the Holy Spirit will prompt many who have the capability to govern and who fear the Lord to vie for office. They will arise, be bold and will maintain their stand for Christ even when they get into office.
- That the watchmen called to pray for the nation will be alert and cover Christians in the frontline in prayer so that they will stand even when it is extremely unpopular to do so.
- Pray that those called to speak the truth to power will do so

Saturday 08 March – Children and Youth of our Land
Let us commit the Children and Youth of our Land unto the Lord – they are the future. Pray:
- That our generation will not drop the baton in passing on the truth of God’s word to them.
- That every Christian teacher, parent, auntie, uncle, mentor etc will recognise what their role is and step up to share God’s truth with them.
- That our young people will find Christ and find peace and meaning in life.
- That God will block out all the crafty arguments designed to trap the young people.
- Let us come against the spirit of rebellion that seems to be prevalent amongst the young people.
- Let us come against violence amongst young people – we say NO MORE to knife and gun attacks and violence of any kind in Jesus name.
- That the young people who are already Christians will be like Daniel and his friends with boldness and unshakeable faith.
- That there will be a reversal of all the filth and depravity that has been pumped into the national curriculum.
- For laws to be put in place to protect our children from the onslaught of filth being flung at them daily.
- That wholesome gifted entertainers will rise up in our media, arts and culture etc
- That young people across the land will develop a distaste for the lack of boundaries and begin to seek boundaries in Christ which truly set them free.
- That the epidemic of mental health issues amongst the young will be halted.

Sunday 09 March – The Economy and The Intercessors
The Economy
Let us pray for direction:
- That God will give the government the wisdom to stimulate growth in the economy – He is the one who gives the power to get wealth.
- That those who have fallen on hard times especially those who are of the household of faith, will tap into God’s wisdom for wealth creation.
- That across the land, true Christians will arise to support the vulnerable and needy.
- That God will transfer wealth into the hands of those who will use the resources for His glory – even within the body of Christ, some are poor handlers.
Intercessors
Let us pray for ourselves as intercessors:
- That we play our part in God’s will for our land through prayer, evangelism, discipling the flock, being godly role models and financing the gospel.
- That each of us will be revived and that God will enrol each of us in His army.
- That we won’t only pray during these lent sessions, but this will become our way of life from now on till we receive our crowns and commendation from our God.
